Frances Parchment McLaren, JP, EAN, Cert. Counselling

Mrs. Frances Parchment McLaren is an Enrolled Assistant Nurse with more than twenty years of service in the profession. She currently brings this wealth of knowledge to her role as a Council Member, where she also serves as Co-Chair of the Policy, Research and Publication Committee. In these roles she contributes to regulatory oversight, policy development and research to strengthen nursing and midwifery education and practice standards. Over the years, Mrs. Parchment McLaren has built a strong foundation in patient care through nearly a decade of service at the Princess Margaret Hospital in St. Thomas, followed by sixteen years of dedicated service at the Falmouth General Hospital in Trelawny.

Mrs. Parchment McLaren completed her nursing training with a Diploma in Assistant Nursing from Excelsior Community College. She later obtained a Certificate in Counselling from The University of the West Indies Open Campus, and holds certifications in Public Speaking and Christian Ministry from the Bethel Bible College of the Caribbean.

As a Senior Member of the Secretariat for the Jamaica Enrolled Nurses Association, Mrs. Parchment McLaren has served as Financial Officer and Senior Executive Officer, managing financial oversight and national advocacy for enrolled assistant nurses. This extensive organizational background informs her contributions to national regulation and professional development. In recognition of her deep commitment to community and public service, Mrs. Parchment McLaren has also been commissioned as a Justice of the Peace for Jamaica.
