Mr. Kevin Allen, MScN, PGDipEd, RN

Mr. Kevin Allen is an advanced practice nursing professional, healthcare administrator, and community leader with over two decades of experience in mental health nursing, nursing education, professional leadership and community service. It is this leadership background that he brings to his role as a Council Member, where he serves as Chair of the Investment Committee and Co-Chair of the Management Committee, providing strategic oversight to the Council’s financial management, investment activities, human resources, organizational operations, and risk management functions.

Academically, Mr. Allen holds a Master of Science in Nursing specialized as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from The University of the West Indies (UWI). He also earned a Certificate in Psychiatric Nursing from the Ministry of Health’s In-Service Education Unit and a Certificate in Supervisory Management from the UWI Global Campus. His extensive background in educational development includes past appointments as a Lecturer and Acting Associate Dean at the International University of the Caribbean, as well as a Clinical Instructor at Knox Community College. He has also advanced nursing competencies across the region by designing continuing education programmes for the Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ) and the Southern Regional Health Authority (SRHA), alongside developing and delivering the specialized Psychiatric Nursing Aide Course.

A prominent figure in regional nursing leadership, he currently serves as the Regional Mental Health Officer with the Southern Regional Health Authority (SRHA), where he coordinates psychiatric clinical teams and spearheads community-centric healthcare initiatives. Mr. Allen served as the First Vice-President of the Nurses Association of Jamaica from 2014 to 2017. He was elected the inaugural President of the Caribbean Nursing Student Organization, and is a member of the Omega Kappa Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International. Mirroring his professional life, he maintains a deep commitment to faith-based community service, serving as Pastor of the Old Harbour Evangelistic Centre and as a District Pastor providing spiritual leadership and counseling across several parishes.
