Re: Biennial Relicensure of Nurses and Midwives

The Nurses and Midwives Regulations 1966

 In the Matter of Renewal of Licence to Practise

This is to remind Registered Nurses, Midwives and Enrolled Assistant Nurses licenced under the Act that pursuant to paragraph 56(1) of the Regulations they are required no later than thirty days before the date of expiration of their respective licence to:

  (a)   apply to the Council for renewal of the licence in the form specified in Form 1 of the fourth schedule,

  (b)   satisfy the Council that he/she has participated in the prescribed continuing education programme, and

  (c)   pay the fee of two thousand dollars for each licence.

Any person specified in the notice who practises after the expiration of the licence period without renewing the licence,  commits an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction before a Resident Magistrate,  to a fine not exceeding two hundred dollars for each day on which he/she so practises.

No penalty payment for non-compliance will be accepted.
