Carol Baker-Burke, MSc.MH/PNP, BSc.N (Admin.), Cert. Psychiatric Nursing, RN

Mrs. Carol Baker-Burke is the Community Mental Health Coordinator at the Ministry of Health, with responsibility for developing standards and protocols, coordinating and monitoring the nursing services of the Community Mental Health Programme in Jamaica.

As a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner she is passionate about mental health education of health workers, patients and the general public. She has been a part-time lecturer in the undergraduate nursing programme at the UWI School of Nursing, Mona since 2007.

In 2011 she received the Jamaica Civil Service, Long Service Award for 25 years in the nursing profession.

She currently Chairs the Nursing Council’s Disciplinary and Penal Committee and is a member of the Legislative Committee. She also sits on the “Committee for the Homeless” out of the Board of Supervision, MLG.

She is a member of the Nurses Association of Jamaica.

An ardent Sabbath keeper who sings in the church choir and assists with Sabbath school for adolescents and young adults.
