Sir Cashave Shaw, EAN, CPT


Sir Cashave Jovan Barnes Shaw brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Council.
Sir Shaw is a practicing Clinician and an Entrepreneur who believes that to attain growth and
success, one must be willing to make sacrifices. A leader in many capacities, he possesses a
passion and zeal to see equity and equality enhanced throughout the nursing profession.
The words of Martin Luther King Jr, “An individual has not started living until he can rise
above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all
humanity”, resonates with Sir Shaw. A true servant-leader, Sir Shaw passionately believes
that to experience independence and successful growth, the concerns and opinions of the
people should be heard. This should then be followed by implementations to determine the
best way forward for the common good of all concerned.
Sir Shaw is a member of the Secretariat and the Executive body of the Jamaica Enrolled
Assistant Nurses Association. He is a Director at the Kiwanis International Movement and a
practicing Seventh Day Adventist. He also serves on the Nursing Council’s Management and
Legislative Committees. Sir Shaw’s character, passion for service and helping others is
evident in his induction as a board member of this Council.
Sir Shaw believes it is not just important to follow the Laws of the land, but one should also
follow the laws of God. Sir Shaw’s exceptional qualities, character, the quest for excellence
and service to humanity make him a valuable member of this Council.
Sir Shaw currently holds professional certification in Phlebotomy, Customer Service,
Communication, Business Studies, Supervisory Management, Counseling and Conflict
Management. His motto is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me
strength”, which he strongly believes and uses as a source of motivation and encouragement
for himself and others.
